Department of Management Studies (BBA)
The Department of Management Studies started functioning from July 2008 session with its first batch of BBA students. DMS is one of the first department established by PCTM. Currently the Department of Management Studies offers a full time BBA Programme affiliated from Kumaun University Nainital & planning to start B.Com (H) to add demand driven and job oriented courses to its portfolio to meet the emerging needs of the industries.
BBA Course is designed to provide basic understanding about management
education and to train the students in conceptual, theoretical and practical
knowledge in various aspects of business. It gives an edge over other students
due to the practical knowledge a student gets, which is a good way to have the
option of great career growth. In today’s competitive world where everybody
wishes to become an entrepreneur, this course helps student's think more
precisely on different aspects of running a business. It helps in building tactical
skills. 3year’s time period to learn the concepts comprehensively. The course
helps develop a holistic approach towards management.
We encourage continuous quality interface with industry through internships, industrial and business tours, project work, participation in business fests, group discussions, workshops, seminars, etc. It is ensured that the students not only get theoretical knowledge but also extensive practical exposure on latest management concepts like E-commerce, Knowledge Management, mock selling exercises and real life projects. It aims to develop the budding managers with a sense of initiative and accountability that ensures their holistic development thereby making them intellectually, socially, physically and spiritually balanced human beings.
The Department's collaboration with leading management institutions and business houses in the country has gone a long way in broadening the students' exposure to the best in management education, practice and research. Their constant interaction with visiting academia and corporate professionals brings them closer to the requirements of the corporate world.
